The fight against aging is not only solved cosmetically - you can look much younger than your passport if you give up some habits. Scientists came to the conclusion that their combination gives a negative combined effect, due to which a person is subject to accelerated visual aging.
The study of the problem involved scientists from the University of Oslo. They concluded that a complex of habits such as smoking, a sedentary lifestyle, poor diet and abuse of alcohol adds to the chronobiological age an extra 12 years. This phenomenon they called behavioral aging.
In contrast to the chronobiological, age-related, and hormonal type of aging, the behavioral depends on daily behavior and bad habits, doctors said.
The objects of observation of the researchers were 5000 people aged 18 to 44 years, whose state of health was monitored for 20 years. According to scientists, 314 of the total number of volunteers in life were present with all four bad habits, and 387 people were included in the "healthy group" who did not abuse anything harmful and looked younger than their years.
"The healthy group was never smokers of the experiment or long abandoned, as well as teetotalers and those who consumed less than 2-3 alcoholic beverages per week. These included those who had 2 hours of physical activity weekly and ate fruits and vegetables at least 3 times a day, "the authors of the project said.
Observation of the subjects, according to doctors, shows: people do not need to go to extremes in order to look younger. To do this, it is enough just to form the behavior that is accessible to almost every person.
